The news: Nielsen and Lionsgate are broadening their partnership to incorporate measurement of MovieSphere, Lionsgate’s free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channel, and its digital network MovieSphere Gold. This makes Lionsgate the first company to have Nielsen measure both a FAST channel and a digital network.
Starting next month, the initiative will measure viewing in roughly 130 local TV markets by combining audience data from MovieSphere’s FAST channel with over-the-air (OTA) viewership from MovieSphere Gold’s local affiliates.
