Healthcare leaders expect AI benefits in remote monitoring, virtual care

The trend: Healthcare executives expect AI adoption to be the leading trend in the next two years and have high expectations for the tech's ability to improve patient care, per a new survey from Sage Growth Partners. Sage surveyed 101 healthcare system and hospital C-suite executives during the second quarter about AI opportunities and investment plans.

The topline: Almost half (43%) of executives surveyed believe that AI will be the most important trend over the next two years.

  • 67% say their organizations are investing in AI to improve patient care, while 66% say they’re using it to streamline administrative operations.
  • However, only 10% are “aggressively pursuing” AI.
  • The majority of organizations in the middle are almost evenly split between actively exploring and starting to implement AI (40%) or taking a caution approach and investing in a few AI solutions (39%).
