The news: In a rare double outage, Spotify and Zoom—leading platforms for entertainment and digital communication—suffered major global disruptions April 16. Millions lost access to music and podcasts and scheduled meetings were inaccessible for hours. 

• Spotify’s mobile and web apps failed early in the day. The company blamed the outage on technical problems.  
• Zoom went dark later in the day due to a GoDaddy domain error.
