The news: Layoffs are sweeping the tech industry this month, including major cuts at Salesforce, Workday, Sonos, and General Motors-owned Cruise.

  • Salesforce will lay off more than 1,000 employees, per Bloomberg, after two rounds of layoffs in 2024.
  • Cruise will cut about 50% of its workforce—including its CEO—as it prepares to shut down.
