The news: Despite the concerns of regulators and parents, teens aren’t worried that social media personally harms them.

• 74% of teens ages 13 to 17 said social media is a positive place to connect with friends, and 63% said it’s an important source of mental health information, per Pew Research’s Teens, Social Media, and Mental Health report.
• However, about half (48%) of teens said social media has mostly negative effects on their peers. Only 14% think those effects have a direct impact on them.
