The news: Despite an uncertain future in the US, TikTok is driving parent company ByteDance’s growth and expanding its offerings to keep creators invested in the platform.

• ByteDance’s revenues grew 29% to $155 billion in 2024, following TikTok driving a worldwide expansion that offset economic downturns in China. Internationally, sales grew 63% to $39 billion, roughly contributing a quarter of its topline. Despite this, overall growth is still much slower than 2023.
• Net profit grew to around $33 billion, per anonymous individuals briefed on the matter and cited by The Information.
