The news: Tempur Sealy entered into a purchase agreement with Mattress Warehouse to sell 73 Mattress Firm retail locations and all 103 specialty mattress retail locations, as well as seven distribution centers tied to the Sleep Outfitters subsidiary.

• The deal is contingent upon the sealing of Tempur Sealy’s $4 billion Mattress Firm acquisition, which was originally set to close this year before the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) voted to block the deal in July.
• Tempur Sealy, which is set to square off against the FTC in hearings beginning on November 12, believes the transaction could still close late this year or in early 2025.
